The role of the insulator:

1. Firmly support and fix the current-carrying conductor;

2. The current-carrying conductor and the ground insulation or so that the device at different points in the current-carrying conductor between the formation of good insulation.

 

As shown in the figure above, in the switchgear cabinet, commonly insulators are not smooth surfaces do things made of corrugated, then why the insulator surfaces generally made of corrugated type?

The main reasons are as follows:

1. will extend the climbing arc length, so in the same effective height, increase the arc climbing distance. And each corrugation can play a role in blocking the arc.

2. Rainy days can play a role in preventing water flow, sewage can not be directly by the insulator upper left to the lower part, the formation of a water column is caused by a grounding short circuit.

3. When the dirt lands on the insulator, its convex and concave part makes the dirt unevenly distributed, thus ensuring the voltage strength to a certain extent.

Application scope of insulators:

Mainly used in power systems of various voltage levels of transmission lines, substations, electrical equipment (the latest launch of the market of electric porcelain water heaters), as well as other special industries such as rail transit in the power system, the different potential conductors or components are connected and play an insulating and supporting role. Such as for high-voltage lines or suspension of tension-resistant insulators and long rod insulators, substation busbar or equipment support rod insulators, transformer bushings, capacitors or transformers, hollow insulators, and so on.

High voltage standoff insulator description

The variety of high voltage insulators listed in the sample all adopt epoxy vacuum pouring technology for one-time molding, kinds of bushing、contact box、insulating cylinders bell housing, etc. adopt APG technology for molding. While some products adopt SMC、DMC un-saturated alkyd enlargement mode plastic for compacting molding. All the products are applied 3.6~40.5KV mid-large volt switchboard.
