The fittings of insulators should not exhibit noticeable corona discharge phenomena under operating voltage to prevent interference with radio or television reception. Since insulators are widely used devices, there is also a requirement for the interchangeability of their connecting fittings. Additionally, technical standards for insulators vary depending on the model and usage conditions, necessitating various electrical, mechanical, physical, and environmental tests to assess their performance and quality.
